Sandestin, FL- Toby D. Brown, a partner with Cunningham Bounds, LLC in Mobile, Alabama, will be sworn in today as president of the Alabama Association for Justice (ALAJ). The organization, supported by over 1200 attorneys across the state, serves as the state’s lone voice advocating for and protecting the rights of Alabama consumers.
“ALAJ is dedicated to ensuring that the courtroom is a level playing field where everyday Alabamians are treated no different than powerful interests,” said Brown. “I am honored to lead these efforts and will work tirelessly outside the courtroom to ensure that Alabamians have their day inside the courtroom.” Brown is no stranger to fighting for the rights of Alabama consumers as he has been lead counsel and co-lead counsel on numerous multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements in cases involving products liability, automobile and trucking accidents, medical negligence, industrial accidents, admiralty and maritime law, environmental pollution and fraud in which his clients have been severely injured or killed. He is a Fellow in the International Society of Barristers, Board Certified as a Civil Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and the current President of the Alabama Civil Justice Foundation. He received his J.D. from the University of Alabama and his B.S. from the University of South Alabama.
