BP FILES COURT PAPERS TO TRANSFER ALL OIL SPILL LAWSUITS TO ITS HOMETOWN OF HOUSTON, TEXAS

On Friday May 7, as BP continued to profess how much it cares about the welfare of the residents, businesses and communities of coastal Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana who are certain to be badly damaged by BP's oil spill, BP filed court papers asking that all lawsuits related to the oil spill be transferred to Houston, Texas, where it is headquartered, including any oil spill lawsuits that may need to be filed in the future. Houston, Texas is home to almost every major oil company with operations in North America, including ExxonMobil, CITGO, ConocoPhillips, Shell Oil and others.
