Which pickup trucks are being recalled by General Motors (GM)?

|

On Friday, April 15, 2016, General Motors (GM) announced a recall of more than 1 million of its 2014 and 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 pickup trucks.

The recall is due to safety concerns involving the assembly of the seat belt. According to GM, a flexible steel cable that connects the seat belt to the vehicle can fatigue and separate over time, potentially putting the driver at risk during an accident. GM released a statement stating, “The problem happens rarely and mainly with trucks used by businesses in which drivers frequently enter and exit,” said GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson.

The statement also noted that the owners of the affected model trucks will be notified of the recall, and the GM will cover the cost of the repairs.
