The personal injury law firm of Cunningham Bounds will serve as the Presenting Sponsor of a new fundraiser benefitting McKemie Place, Mobile’s only shelter for homeless women. The event, Building Walls Band Party, will take place from 7:00 – 10:00 p.m., March 8, 2018, at the Bragg Mitchell Mansion. The Atlanta based dance band, Creativity, will provide the entertainment. Tickets are $60 each and the public is invited to support McKemie Place by purchasing tickets and attending this inaugural event.
Founded in 2007, McKemie Place provides a safe haven for women in distress. It is the only overnight shelter for single, homeless women in Mobile, Washington and Baldwin Counties. The mission of the shelter is to provide homeless women access to essential resources such as counseling, education, employment, personal care and spiritual encouragement. McKemie Place is a not-for-profit organization and relies on financial and material contributions, as well as grants and fundraisers, to remain open. Currently, the shelter is limited by a 69-bed capacity.
