Mobile, Ala.– The public is invited to attend the 5th Annual Downtown Cajun Cook-Off presented by Cunningham Bounds, LLC, which benefits the Child Advocacy Center. The event will take place March 23, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in Cathedral Square in downtown Mobile. There will be up to 25 local teams each serving a Cajun dish, as well as live music from local musicians.
“We have served as the presenting sponsor since this event started five years ago because our mission is very similar to that of the Child Advocacy Center: we both fight for the little guy. Cunningham Bounds represents people who are injured, killed, or cheated by the wrongdoing of others. The Child Advocacy Center represents children who are victims of abuse. The only difference in our fight is where it happens − we fight every day in the courtroom and they fight out in the community,” said Lucy Tufts of Cunningham Bounds.
All money raised from ticket sales goes directly to the Child Advocacy Center. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the event. Tickets can be bought from the Child Advocacy Center, Arrow Exterminating (Mobile & Baldwin locations), and Mellow Mushroom (Midtown/Loop & Old Shell Road locations). Tickets are also available online at www.cacmobile.org for $13. Children six and under will be allowed in for free.

The Child Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization that provides counseling to sexually abused and/or physically abused children in the Mobile area. The Child Advocacy Center has more than 28 trained professionals working to give abused children and non-offending family members a chance to begin the healing process and recover from trauma. The center also provides education and training to increase public awareness of child abuse so that it can be stopped.
